I had a wonderful stay at Abbey House Hotel, where the spacious room featured a lovely walk-in shower and an impressively large bath, perfect for unwinding after a hectic week. The blend of original Edwardian features with contemporary luxury made the experience charming, particularly in the beautiful winter suite I occupied, which was clean, tidy, and well laid out.
Nonetheless, this did not significantly detract from my overall experience at the hotel.

Excellent staff, gorgeous grounds.
Abbey House was a lovely hotel, however the double room was not worth the usual price of £120. Definatly only the £60 I paid. The room was very warm, no aircon, and there were marks on the bathrom walls and tiling coming away from under the bath, and little things like paint splashes on the side of the wardrobe, this obviously isnt a problem and take away from the ability to enjoy the stay but its not what you expect from a hotel that charges £120 a night. The bar also closed at half ten on the sunday night, (supposed to be 24hr) no warning of this, the staff just started to move the furniture from around everyone.

The gentlemen that worked in the bar Warren was fantastic, made the weekend enjoyable for my partner and family who were up half the night chatting to him, defenitly 10 out of 10 for that guy!
We paid for a double room which came as 2 single beds pushed together a little bit uncomfortable aspecially when u sleep in the middle, the reception staff were rude on arrival and werent really helpful.

Stunning hotel set in large grounds, with friendly staff who could not do enough. The room we stayed in was a little dated, however this was a large room which was clean with a very comfortable bed and magnificent views. The walk to the priory and around the local area was stunning. There was a wedding party there when we stayed so we expected some noise, but suprisingly it was very quiet. The food was magnificent and not overley expensive, we would definately stay there again.
Room could have been re decorated

beautiful grounds near abbey and parks for weekend walks
I loved wandering through the beautifully maintained gardens and strolling to the nearby Furness Abbey, just a short 800-meter walk away. The friendly staff created a warm atmosphere and the fine decor made for an enjoyable environment to relax after days spent discovering Barrow's attractions like the Dock Museum and Barrow Park, both just a few minutes away by foot.

The hotel boasts fine architecture and beautifully kept gardens that provide a tranquil atmosphere. The room featured a comfortable bed, wide-screen TV, and a powerful shower. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the egg station that was very well received. Despite multiple weddings taking place , noise levels were managed well was great.

The hotel was surrounded by lovely gardens and a beautiful old castle behind the hotel was amazing. The hotel looked very grande with a fab courtyard. The rooms were clean and spacious, nothing extra special as the hotel makes up for it. Breakfast in morning was lovely, maybe the full english was tad bit of a small portion but still it was nice.
